BLOG FOURTEEN: Thoughts on the New DreamWorks Logo Animation
DreamWorks just updated their logo animation recently! It features a lot of familiar faces from some of their biggest films including How to Train your Dragon, Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, and more! A lot of the criticism that came with the new logo animation was the fact that other characters from famous movies weren't included, but DreamWorks is already one step ahead with that concern. They stated that there will be variants of the new logo that includes other characters to pay tribute to, aside from maybe Shrek (as seen below).
I personally believe that the new spin on their logo is wonderful as it quite literally takes us a walk down memory lane to all the beloved characters in the DreamWorks franchise! Although, the feedback on the missing characters is very valid too, especially since there seems to be no representation of characters from their memorable 2D animated films like Spirit, Prince of Egypt, Road to El Dorado, etc., so I do hope the new variants pay some tribute to those movies as well. It is extremely cool to see what used to be a more static logo become a character itself interacting with the others on the screen. I am super excited to see what's in store for the other versions of the logo!
